The Explosion Proof Loudspeaker Star 2500

For acoustic signalling as well as for speech transmission

The Explosion Proof Loudspeaker Star 2500 was designed not only for acoustic signalling and emergency communications but also for speech transmission under rugged environmental conditions in potentially explosive areas of group II.


The protection degree II 2 G EEx dem IIC T5 allows the loudspeaker to be used in the hazardous areas of zones 1 and 2.

Explosion protection is guaranteed, among other things, by the terminal box of the “increased safety” protection type. The transformer module is encapsulated by means of a sealing compound, making it gas-tight. The acoustic pressure chamber is isolated from the environment via a special filter (sinter metal).

The housing is made entirely of thermoplastic, thereby ensuring a high level of protection against corrosion. An equipotential bonding is unnecessary. The plastic housing plasticis also anti-static and UV resistant. The speaker's ingress protection is IP 65, making it dustproof and almost completely water tight. The volume can be set up to 119dB(A).
